Join us for a fun and active evening exploring The River Wensum by canoe, followed by an authentic stone baked pizza at the Red Lion pub.
We’ll set off from the Red Lion on Bishopgate and canoe into the city – past Cow Tower, Quay Side, the Arts University and the Playhouse until we reach New Mills Yard. Along the way we’ll also see the old Bullard and Sons Anchor Brewery and the derelict Eastern Electricity Building which still has Sir Thomas More’s novel Utopia painted on it (by artist Rory Macbeth).
Once we’ve explored this side of Norwich we will paddle back and continue past the Red Lion towards the train station. We’ll go under Bishops Bridge, alongside Riverside Road until we reach the train station and Riverside area. This is where we spin ourselves round and head back to the Red Lion pub for an authentic Italian pizza, homemade and baked in their pizza oven.
We start at 6pm and aim to finish around 8.30-9pm.We canoe for 1 – 1.5 hours. £20/person (includes pizza!).
We have 7 canoes available – each canoe fits a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 3 people.
